A moment of held breath
soft skin touches.
Tear smeared and sweaty;
grazed knees, sticky fingers
smelling sweetly of ice lollies
long gone.
His hands pat my face
searching for secrets,
I sigh.
He rests, warm
breath on my neck.
Sleepily stretches arms;
long legs ready to run.
Breath quickens
he races away from me.
Races and wins,
breath comes
hard and fast
A slap on my back,
he passes me by
his handprint left there.

Listen
She stooped low
pregnant with words,
and yet,
every time she
placed one down,
on the table
it turned to dust.
'I love you'
Gone in under three seconds
not there
long enough to read.
pregnant with words,
and yet,
every time she
placed one down,
on the table
it turned to dust.
'I love you'
Gone in under three seconds
not there
long enough to read.
